Place a camping tarp underneath your tent can protect the tent from damages. It also keeps the moisture from the ground away from your tent to keep you dry.
Before setting up your tent, it is recommended to set up a shade tarp first. A shade tarp serves two purposes: 1) it provides shade during the day, 2) it keeps the rain away. The shade tarp should be at least double if not triple the size of your tent to provide sufficient weather protection.
Once the shade tarp is set up. You can proceed to choose a location for your tent. Choose a high and flat location where water would slop away. Before laying down your camping tarp, pick up all sharp rocks and sweep away small rocks with a brush and dustpan. Erect the tent after the camping tarp is in place and give yourself a pad on the back!
